THE MOST FUN EVENING OF ART AND CULTURE. On Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM it will be Museumnacht Den Haag again. You can visit more than 35 institutions with one ticket. A visit to the House of the Book museum cannot be missed. An evening full of art and culture and great activities: workshops, tours, performances and much more.
Be surprised during Museum Night in the oldest book museum in the world. Step in front of our Museumnacht photographer's camera for a fantastic photo shoot or participate in the big drawing drinks. Take part in the flash tours or one of the late night colleges. You can enjoy a drink and music in the museum garden.
Kiss a frog photoshoot
Defeat the dragon, save the prince(ss) and kiss the frog. Find your inner child again in the cardboard castle setting at the royal photoshoot in House of the book.
Meet the Stencil king
Remember the stencil machine? The wonderful device that the teacher at school used to make tests or use to print school newspapers. Long before the invention of the printer, pamphlets, newspapers and sometimes even entire books were stenciled by hand on a large scale. The nostalgic stencil machine is back again thanks to the one-and-only stencil king. He doesn't stencil school papers this time, but your own work of art! Cut, tear, draw, write and paste a work of art and have it stenciled in multiple colors by Erwin Blok, the undisputed Stencil King.  |
Draw and drink
Take a seat at the long tables in the garden and bring your drink with you (our bartender Bas has delicious drinks for sale again). Here you may draw on everything you see: the table cloth, the pots and pans and even (if you look at him nice) on your neighbour. Look beyond the length of your pencil and think bigger than your piece of paper. It’s allowed to spill your drink. Who knows what great art becomes of
Black out poetry
Michelangelo said: 'Statues are not made, they must be freed from marble'. And that is exactly how the Blackout poem is created. You just have to free the poetry from the text. Delete the words you don't need and watch the great poet emerge within you. You are more poetic than you think!

Put on your sweatpants. Step inside the new exhibition of House of the Book and take one of the flash tours.
Especially during Museumnacht, junior curator and ultra-marathon runner Malou will take you along the highlights of the exhibition during these flash tours.

Have a nice toast to Museum Night, bartender Bas (Culicompany) is ready for you again with delicious drinks in the museum garden. Come listen to music from DJ Remco or bring your drink and join the big drawing drinks. Of course you can also take a look at how best to pose for the 'dragon of a photo shoot'.
