Workshop: print your own (garden) book!

Herbarius 10de eeuw coll Huis van het Boek 2

During her residency at the National Museum Huis van het boek, artist Mirelle van Tulder delved into centuries-old herbaria: richly illustrated herbal books filled with plants, recipes and knowledge. In this workshop, you will print the cover of your own (garden) book and contribute to a collective garden book to be published later this year. Don’t miss it—reserve your ticket(s) online.

Print your own (garden) book!

Over the past few months, artist Mirelle van Tulder (Roots to Fruits) has been researching the richly illustrated herbariums (herb books) in the collection of the national museum Huis van het boek as part of her research residency (supported by Stroom Den Haag). Van Tulder sees these historical books as gardens on paper and wonders what such books could look like today. Which plants and recipes would be in them?
Van Tulder invites you to a linocut printing workshop. Under guidance, you will print the cover of your own herbarium: a place where new ideas can grow. At the same time, you will contribute to a collective garden book that the artist will publish later this year.
