Garden event
Een nieuwe natuur, residentie Céline Hurka

14.00-15.30 Artist talk and Bookshow Céline Hurka and guests (Garden room)
15.30-18.00 Flower bar with pop-up printing station in the garden and visit residency
16.30-18.00 Changing of the magnolia flowers by Delphine Lejeune, Yamuna Forzani and Céline Hurka (residency space)

The museum garden sets the stage for a program of “head, heart, and hands.” Typographer and artist Céline Hurka will share her working methods and plans for her residency at Huis van het boek, showing remarkable books from the museum’s collection. Afterwards you can relax in the sun and enjoy refreshing drinks in the sun made from the flowers and plants Céline explores in her residency (don’t worry, no endangered species are used!).Those not afraid to get their hands dirty can create a botanical print in the garden using a real antique printing press. Be sure to also visit Céline Hurka’s residency space, where at 16:30 Delphine Lejeune, Yamuna Forzani and Céline Hurka will help the Magnolia Tapestry continue to bloom with new metal flowers.

The residency 'A New Nature' was made possible in part through financial support from the Iona Foundation, the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, and the Foundation Friends of Huis van het boek.
